CHRISTINA CIUPKE & MART KANGRO /EST-GER/
´Winners versus Losers´ /PREMIERE!/
In their new performance ´Winners versus Losers´ Mart Kangro and Christina Ciupke are reflecting on the process of self-actualisation in relation to the image one likes to be identified with. How to make a good impression? Or even more, why to make a good impression, is a question to be asked.
The moment one spots another person a load of information starts to travel across. Decoding the other’s body and cultural landscape starts long before there is any touch or verbal communication. The unknown territory will be discovered then on different layers. Information is getting increasingly refined in a short amount of time.
Christina Ciupke is working as a choreographer and dancer in Berlin and has worked together with many well known choreographers, composers and photographers.
Mart Kangro can be considered to be the most well-known Estonian contemporary dance artist. Among others he has collaborated with Mai Murdmaa, Charles Linehan, Thomas Lehman and Xavier Le Roy. His works have been presented in more than 20 countries.
First piece done in cooperation between Ciupke and Kangro ´Longer than Expected´ premiered in January 2007 at the Kanuti Gildi SAAL.
