What leads to action
The oppressed and the oppressor lives within us
Always every day now everywhere

A trip to zero-point. RADAR.
Boundaries level the scenery. LEVEL.
Compact field. Compass is pointing. BODY.
The position is booked in the terminal. LARGE.

INTERVAL (ALUE) is a hypnotic solo where a person is adjusting to the limited space.

Favela Vera Ortiz (1972) is a Finnish, Helsinki-based dance artist. She has graduated from the University College of Dance (Danshögskolan) in Stockholm 2001.
Favela Vera Ortiz combines dramatic elements with modern dance. Often she approaches choreography from the psychological point of view. Breaking the natural experience of time is characteristic of her works as well as rapid changes in the energies.
In her work Favela Vera Ortiz doesn't use only one type of movement that would follow from one piece to another. She uses the techniques of contemporary dance, which merge stylized gestures and everyday movements. Along with the dramatic approach she has produced entirely abstract choreographies and wishes to devote herself to different kind of styles also in the future.
Content=form and form=content
A choreographer's intention is to find the form that supports the content in best possible way. She is also open to new experimentations. Moving installations, site-specific work and dance video are all possible ways of working for her.
Favela Vera Ortiz has been working with dancers, actors, mimics and young people aiming at the dancer's profession. Usually choreographies are made in tight cooperation and through improvisation.
On the student level it's important to take into account differences in capabilities. In that case it's more likely that the choreographer creates the movement language herself.
The means in the process evolve according to the production as well as the ways of moving change according to the subject. New ideas lead into new objectives and these objectives define the ways in which they can be reached best.
