PIETER AMPE /BEL/ ‘On stage’

One foot in reality, the other in his teenager fantasy of becoming some kind of a star, Pieter decided to give it a last shot before he says these dreams goodbye.
Fed by all the good education he has gone trough, He unites all virtuosity he possesses to reach out to the stars and ultimately become one... or die trying.

"On stage" is about the feeling something is about to happen, about getting your shit together, 'bout doing what you have to do, about trying ... and trying again pushing it to the max about raw power and getting it over with.

Pieter Ampe studied 4 years in P.A.R.T.S. Brussels, one year in SEAD (Salzburg) and in the dance academy Arnhem. Was an actor for the Belgian theatre director Jan Decorte and made work for the 20th birthday of art centre Vooruit in Gent. Researches and creates new works in Campo as an artist in residence, Is touring the duets  "Still difficult duet" with Guilherme Garrido,  "O' feather of lead" with Simon Mayer and the solo "On stage". Participates in the new creation of Rosas / Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker 2009.
