For the first time festival UUS TANTS (NEW DANCE) took place in 1997 hence it is ten years since the first festival. Since 2006 festival UUS TANTS and ´made in Estonia marathon´ are held in turns over a year.
UUS TANTS is a showcase of Estonian contemporary dance reviewing the best works of Estonian independent dance-makers over the last two years. Indeed everyone is not able to participate, as has happened also this time but it is still a good and clear review of the current situation and movements on Estonian dance scene.
All in all the audience and guests (the leaders of the festivals and theatres) can see 13 pieces made by Estonian choreographers during 4 days in Tallinn.
It is a spectacular parade of Estonian dance that is worth seeing.
