Ball bases on the broadening of the communication inside a dance couple until its transmission to the relationship between the audience and the performers. What is at stake when the performer ’invites’ the spectator ’to a dance’? In other words, Ball relies upon the expression of one's wishes in the stage context. There is a relationship of continuous desire-based negotiation, as well as the reciprocal generosity, at stake. The performers are searching the ways to stay true to themselves and provoking gently the spectators to do the same. Therefore the colors of each performance depend also on the each specific audience.
’... But no, everything is, almost without exception, mathematically clear. The beauty of the threads of thought. They explore what comes out of increasing the influence of an audience to a performance. What happens during this night when ... the thoughts of these people, who have come to see, take form on stage. ...’ from press release by Laur Kaunissaare, dramaturg of Kanuti Gildi SAAL
