united dancers of ZUGA "ZUGA ZUUG ZUH-ZUH-ZUH"

When did you last see a dance piece for children? Yep, must have been ages ago. Especially if we're talking about contemporary dance. Why ZUGA and why a piece for children? Well, actually it's why again really, because ZUGA has made one already - 2004 saw the premiere of their "ZUGA´s children performance". It was fun to do for ZUGA and fun to look at for the children. Plus, it got the children's theatre prize at the Estonian Theatre showcase DRAAMA. So obviously, after a few years, ZUGA still hasn't had enough. The performers themselves have children about 2 years old: hence the personal interest and remarks gathered by observation.

Dance meets play. A journey with movement, sounds and music. Stops at different parts of the body. Legs walk, run, jump, fall. Hands pat, fly, grab. Heads nod, turn. Eyes blink and dance. No chairs. Everybody will sit on the floor. If it feels like watching, just watch. If it feels like taking part, just do it.

United dancers of ZUGA is a dance collective that was created 10 years ago by then young and active dance-makers Tiina Mölder, Kaja Kann and Jarmo Karing. Throughout the years different artists have participated in the various adventurous performances of ZUGA. ZUGA loves the work process and takes it onto the stage enlivening the relation between performers and spectators.
